Statement: PSE brings its Certified Securities Specialist Course to the Visayas
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the University of San Carlos (USC) Cebu for the school to run the Certified Securities Specialist Course developed by the PSE.
The Securities Course was launched on December 2006. It is a 127-hour continuing education program for the public that aims to broaden their understanding about capital markets, particularly the equities industry. Among the subjects tackled in the course are financial market theories, valuation techniques and analysis, investment portfolio management, ethics, regulations and market dynamics. Current partners of the PSE in this program are the Ateneo Center for Continuing Education, UST Center for Continuing Professional Development, Development Center for Finance, iACADEMY School for Continuing Education and Global City Innovative College.
“The collaboration with USC will beef up our roster of partner institutions for the Securities Course. This also expands our reach to cater to market practitioners and retail investors in the Visayas who have long wanted to attend this class,” said PSE President and Chief Executive Officer Hans B. Sicat.
