Statement:PSE announces first PSETradex broker launch
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) welcomed BA Securities, Inc. as the first trading participant to officially launch the Exchange’s online platform service branded as PSETradex.
PSETradex is a service provided by the Exchange to brokerage firms who want to offer a web-based trading platform to their clients without having to develop their own online trading facility. This online solution will allow clients of brokers to post their orders online and directly access market data electronically.
“I’m excited that our company is the first to launch the services of PSETradex. Online trading is really the best way to go to reach out to retail stock market investors. I’m also excited for our investors who can now have the accessibility and convenience of being able to trade and monitor their portfolio on the go. Soon, we shall be launching the mobile application that comes with the PSETradex facility which should further trading convenience for our clients,” Mr. Bryan Lao Ang, President of BA Securities Inc said.
Under the commencement date letter signed by BA Securities Inc. to the PSE, BA Securities shall be launching their online platform “BASecOnline” on August 27, 2013.
“We’ve seen retail activity grow significantly the last few years and that can be attributed greatly to the increase in number of online investors. As we assist brokers to go online through PSETradex, we expect the investor base and the market’s trading activity to improve even more. The launch of BA Securities of PSETradex will now form part of the historic milestones of the PSE,” said PSE President and Chief Executive Officer Hans B. Sicat.
PSETradex is a web-based trading management system that will allow users to trade shares of stock, monitor the order status and manage the stock portfolio, and gather relevant market information through their computers. In addition, it can provide a mobile wireless application for equity trading which operates on web-based mobile phones. It enables investors, who have registered with stockbrokers, to trade in a totally mobile environment.
“The online and mobile PSETradex will also open new opportunities for offshore investors to have immediate and direct access to our market. We applaud the PSE for having this vision and providing us with a gateway to better serve this market segment,” Mr. Ang added.
